am playing SP. read abt shikari spears. Thought it may be superior to the shikari ninja darts. are they available in SP, and what level must I be to use it. I am using the progressive dragon minigun and thought that was absolutely the best for a ranger.

Stick to the minigun, the Heartbow and the throwing stars.
The Shikari spear is for true Shikari only. And that's not the title your character gets for having a high enough Ranged skill, it is rather a "race". If you play MP, you can play as a Shikari, and then, only then, will you be able to use the Shikari spear. Also, I doubt you would even be able to get it in SP.
Possible spoiler : --- The person to buy one from only shows up when another Shikari is near. You know how those Shikari love to hide... ---

What is Shikari? I don't think I've heard of it before. ...it is rather a "race". If you play MP, you can play as a Shikari... If you play Lands of Hyperborea in MultiPlayer, you can pick among these different characters to play : Human Female, Human Male, Dwarf Male, Hyperborean (gender unknown), Light Elf Female, Light Elf Male, Dark Elf Female, Dark Elf Male, Valkyrie (Female), Shikari (Male)and four Elemental Witches (Female) (and if you have the Darkling mod installed my can even play a female Darkling). In SinglePlayer, you run across several Shikari, if you but look around. One of them, is hidden on the beach of StoneGate, another is in a house in Tir'Malani and so on. If you read some lorebooks and talk to them, you can find out more about them. They have quite some history behind them. edit for spelling

Yep, Hyperborea has so much depth of story. It's much like Tolkien's work, you keep hitting little details in the story that leave you saying, "Oh, I'd like to know MORE about that!", and you are certain that there IS more, you just can't quite get to all of it. It's that magic of storytelling that makes the world feel real. When you hit the edge of the page, you are left with the feeling that while you may have hit a border you can't go beyond, the world didn't actually stop, it keeps right on going. You can make out glimpses in the mist, but you can't quite see all the details. I just LOVE Hyperborea...

I'll have to do a "kudo" for LOH. I have lost count of how many times I have play LOH. Tried DS2, and the only part I liked about it is being able to feed the donkey with junk that I had not bothered to sell... Am thinking of playing LOH as MP alone though, is that different from the SP ?

Am thinking of playing LOH as MP alone though, is that different from the SP ? Some things that are only available in SP, some only in MP. Most of the MP-only things can only be found/discovered by one of all the character races you can choose from. And just as how some of the races were only friendly to you, or only to T'Vril, depending on which race you choose to play you will have different people talking to you, or attacking you on sight. Some will just refuse to talk to you, some will open up to you, some will admire you, some will loathe you. Playing those different races in MP is really nice. By talking to everyone, you can discover small bits and pieces of information you hadn't run across before. Also, the (majority of the) quests are gone, in MP, so you can explore freely. No more roadblocks stopping you when you want to go somewhere (except for the King's Quest, you still need to trigger the quest for that roadblock to disappear). Oh, and you have only one character to focus upon (or one character and a minion/summon), instead of a party. It may or may not be a positive thing, depending on how your prefer to play. And, in MP, you can play and enjoy the game along with your friends, of course.

I just LOVE Hyperborea... Definitely. I decided to start the SP game over again since it's been so long since I last played. I'd forgotten just how much fun it is. ;D

I would like to know how to get the throwing spear shikari. Shouldn't you be able to get the spear in sp too if you can read about it. Where did you find the progressive dragon minigun? I can't even find the regular version.

The Throwing Spear is only for a Shikari character. That's the Shikari RACE, not CLASS. So only in MultiPlayer it's of any use. The reason why it isn't given to you right at the beginning, is because working towards that Spear is a good fun goal for a new MultiPlayer Shikari character.
Try looking for the minigun around the area where you can find related weapons, such as the flamethrower and the lightning gun. Also, violence (killing and smashing things) isn't always the best solution.

In regular version who can talk to the goblin shopkeepers? I killed all the goblins but I found no dragon miniguns or progressive versions of goblin weapons. Can you give me a hint?

Can you only get the dragon minigun and progressive version by talking to the goblin shopkeepers? Can T'vril T'chang talk to the goblins? Can you get the dragon minigun and progressive version only in mp? I need hints and answers.

When dealing with Dark Races, leave the hero behind and have T'Vril advance alone. When dealing with light races, switch. Goblins will talk to T'Vril, and even sell her stuff (though you may have to search around to find the weapons shop, it's hidden VERY well). Goblins attack the hero on sight, and the moment they decide to attack, ALL goblins in the caverns become hostile to your party. So, save before entering, and have T'Vril go it alone.
