I'm not saying we should put a fig leaf on Michelangelo's David, just that women look better. Which SEEMS like an artistic statement to me, but, like I said, I KNOW I'm prejudiced. Kilarin You may find it interesting to go back and see how I dealt with this issue on page 15 and 18. That model doesn't have genitalia, either, but the character (Adam) DOES.

Ah yes, I noticed the clever leg placement.

I got a bit nervous when I checked in at 6:45 this morning and there wasn't a new page. Then I realized, no panic! It just means Xaa finally got a good nights sleep! Kilarin

This seems to have turned into a comedy since Baal was introduced... and whats so bad about the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch?

This seems to have turned into a comedy since Baal was introduced... Please re-read the warning I gave at the beginning regarding irreverent humor. ;-) Well, obviously, Baal wouldn't be the one using it. ;-)

ha!!!!! Ok, what about the Catapult of Retribution, or Balista? But seriously, the hammer will be better, miss once with a siege weapon and, well, thats all she wrote. Kilarin

Ok, what about the Catapult of Retribution, or Balista? Oh come now, if the Ancient Magic is going to let us get away with that then we might as well ask for the Trebuchet of Retribution!

gfb: Well, yes, I did consider it, but the Trebuchet is generally so much less mobile, I was trying to think practically of something Baal could drag to the gates for a challenge.

What, a simple mallet isn't good enough for you? Bear in mind just how BIG Baal really is, and how easily he's hefting that weapon. That hammer doesn't look like much, but do the math for a moment. 1) It's basically a solid brick of steel on a stick, the mallet being about two cubic feet in volume. 2) That would put it's weight on the close order of nine hundred and sixty-seven pounds. 3) Baal is as big as an ox and as strong as an elephant (notice how easily he hefts a half-ton brick of steel on a stick). Assuming he can swing it at decent velocities (which he can), he'll probably get a good 100 fps out of his swings. 4) 967 lbs at 100 fps works out to something around 164 MILLION foot pounds in a delivered blow. This is the kind of delivered energy you get out of explosives, and is already on a par with heavy siege engines. Of course, it's also Magic. The wooden gates of Eden stand up to it because they're magic, too. If he whacked normal wood with that mallet, he'd shatter it. That kind of delivered energy can dent tank armor, folks.

Xaa: Ha! No, the Hammer is perfect. Just continuing Satin's chain of thought... Really, I doubt if size matters here. Probably the magic is MUCH more important. And which way "God" wants the outcome to go. I strongly suspect that little rat of having planned out this entire thing. A VERY clever trick, wanna win the good/evil battle, then push evil into being good and play the bad guy yourself. But then, none of my guesses about this story have been right yet... Diablo: Potent, but it violates the premise. It's gotta be something available in the "old ways". No high tech. Otherwise Satin just wishes up THE HYDROGEN BOMB OF GLASSY SMOOTH FLOORSNow then, the GREEK FIRE OF ETERNAL PUNISHMENT has possibilities... Kilarin

As far as we know, God hasn't implemented death yet. It might take a while for the crispy exterior wears of though...

And a very satisfying THWACK it was. But, as Liantedan pointed out, we can't trust death to be a permanent thing yet here, so we may very well see gabby again.
