As you seem to have not added a Mage forum, I guess this is where they belong.
All I can say is wow. The plots you weaved together, the storylines, the way the gods played each other.... Amazing. Truly.
The only thing that saddens me, is that there are only 3 books to the series. I found myself dreading to continue reading when I reached the last 100 pages. I would read for a while, and realize I had gone through 10 pages, then another 10 and so on.untill finally I was on 536, and I didnt want to turn the page (I know its digital so I didnt turn) just to see those words "The End"
You obviously left room to continue the story, because there is no way the game the gods are playing would last less then 2 more books. My question is, do you have plans for another book?
Also, you once mentioned that MageWorld the mod was designed based off a RPG you had created a while back. Knowing the limitations of the DS engine, I have the impression that Mage, the RPG you created and Mageworld are all greatly related to each other. I am certain that Oerth will have some simularities as well. And I will now buy and read those books as well. My question is however, have you ever published your RPG? I am a gamer from way back (well, way back for me) and would love to get it. I probably would not be able to play it for a while, but I would still love to acquire it.
Great work Xaa, please keep it coming. Very few authors I have read have kept me hooked through all of thier books, so far you have, and I feel honored to actually be able to talk to you about your books.

As you seem to have not added a Mage forum, I guess this is where they belong. Fixed. Yes, a fourth book is finished, and I am working on a fifth. Yes, the combat and magic systems were based off "The Black Tower", a roleplaying system I created many years ago. The "Mage" books are set in that universe, and use that RPG system. To the extent of "The characters are definable in the TBT system", yes. However, the Oerth universe has no magic, it's more along the lines of the science-fantasy supplements I released for the TBT system. Yes, and I posted the link several times over at SiegeNetwork. www.gregathcompany.com/catalog/gfict.htmlI am glad you are enjoying the work.

You mentioned a fourth book in the series, I notice it is not on your discus page. Is there somewhere else I can find it Digi? I would so love to get it so I can read it as well.

It is not released yet because I don't release books until I am finished with the series. The reason for this is to prevent continuity screw-ups. The exception is the "Muse" series, which I intend to release one by one as I complete each book.

I'm on chapter 27 now, and need to stop to refresh myself a bit. I love the quotes that foreshadow each chapter...is that something you borrowed from Tolkien? Or another author I'm not familiar with? And is it a technique you utilize in your other works? I also wonder about the basis for the sub-plot. Is this merely an exercise in social commentary, or a more personal expression of understanding and experience. (If so, you need not ellaborate.) Ok...starting Raven of Yorindar now...who needs sleep!!!

No, sorry, that particular technique pre-dates Tolkien. Tolkein did not invent the modern fantasy novel - that distinction belongs to the golden-age writers who came before him, like Robert E. Howard and his contemporaries. In some, yes. All will become clear in the end.

There is an end? jk The end of book 3 or the promised book 5? My wife thinks I'm nuts to be sittng in front of my computer reading a book all day and night...but I asked her if that was not better than playing MW all day and night !!! I love the work so far, thank you. It's been years since I actually read anything. My wife is in shock and has stopped complaining! ;D

I'm surely intrested in the next load of Xaa-books. I only wonder when I'll be able to buy them, and which ones I'll buy. In a few months I'll probably either buy the Oerth Cycle or the second Mage-trilogy (Wait, it's another trilogy, right ? Or "just" 2 more to make the trilogy a 5-book-thingie ?).
