On my old Rendo gallery, I had a series of "comedy" images - cartoons, basically, starring Posette. Most of them were made during the process of making my modded posette. Some of them, however, were made simply because a thought struck me. Here, collected for your enjoyment, is "Life With Posette." If you people like these images, I'll crank out more. ;D
This was my second image, which you've seen in the "My Modded Posette" thread. It's titled "Just Drink Your Guinness and Relax, Dear." It's intended as a humorous piece, but it shows the developments I had made in smoothing out her joints. It was also the first image in which I started to give Posette a personality.
The next image is titled "Objects In Mirror Are Not As Fat As They Appear." It's a bit comedic, a bit surrealistic, but hopefully thoroughly enjoyable. Again, Posette was presented as having a personality as a character, rather than simply being a model.
Next was one titled "Posette Versus Jessie." You see, I'd just gotten Poser 6 in the mail, and finally had a chance to examine the much-touted Jessie P6. And found she sucked, frankly. And I said as much in the "Image Notes" when I posted the image.
Ah, but some were not satisfied with my assessment of Jessie, and my claim that my modded Posette was superior. So, we come to this image: "Posette Versus Jessie, Round Two." Billed as the Battle Royale of the 21st century, this image would pit Victoria, Jessie and my modded Posette in a knock-down, drag-out fight to determine who was the best model.
I started doing "one-offs" at this point. Small, usually one-panel joke renders. Here's one of them, titled "Why Old Timers Should Never Play D&D With Kids."
Here's one I did about that time that I never posted to Rendo - you people reading this post will literally be the first to see it, ever. It's titled "Newspaper Interview." The role of the male Elf is played by Dork, the P4 Nude Man. Interestingly, he also plays the green-skinned Ork.
Aaaaaanyway...
Time passed, and eventually, V4 was released. This next one was my commentary on it - again, starring Posette. It was titled "Posey Runs Away From Home!"
And what I said there is true, too. Though I may eventually sell the work I've done on Posette, the face, I'm keeping. That's my character, my girl.
Well, December of '06 rolled around, and Posette starred in a christmas-render - in keeping with the character I'd developed for her, she's singing "Santa Baby." I wasn't completely satisfied with this render, but as I'd fiddled with it for several hours, I finally decided it was good enough for a joke render. If you haven't heard the song, well, you probably won't really get the joke, though. Oddly, the cover done by Madonna is probably the best.
More controversy regarding Victoria 4, here in a comic entitled "Posey Gets Pissed Off!" Again, Posey is both a model and a singer. And yes, she can sing, but like Madonna, she sings better drunk. And it's easier to get her clothes off when she's drunk. Also like Madonna.
And yes, that really IS a render of Victoria 4. ;D
Aaaaaanyway...
About this time, I finally got Poser7 SE. Overall, I was disappointed with it, for various reasons, most of which were solved in the recent SR1 patch. The things that weren't fixed, however, meant that I won't be using most of the P7 content. The bending on Sydney and Simon were and are truly atrocious, and they are WAY too high-poly. Just Simon, his tuxedo, his shoes and his hair are over 1.5 million polys - totally ridiculous. P7SE came with Sydney, Simon, their formal clothes, a ridiculously high-poly sports car, and a "Casino" set including a building interior, slot machines, a roulette wheel, cards, etc. The intent was to play off the release of "Casino Royale", really. Unfortunately, when I loaded up Sydney, Simon, their clothes and their car and tried to render it, P7 crashed hard. Every damn time. Of course, this isn't suprising, the total scene was over four million polys and required a windows swap file of about eight gig.
Sooooooo...
We end up with this render:
You'd be amazed at how many people didn't get the "Commanche" joke until I pointed out that she was wearing Sydney's hair.
Well, finally, Christmas Eve rolled around. And here's what I came up with for Christmas Eve of '06. I can't take full credit for it, my wife wrote the dialog.
I've made a few other comics along this line. If people like seeing "Life with Posette", let me know and I'll post them.
