As said above - I am at the very begignig of the game, first square. Learned those basic skills, killed (most likely just ran around untill villagers got them) black pawns that came from north and east. I've made best armor avaiable at this point ect this dwarf said i should go west so i did, with some trouble i killed that black pawn standing on the way to the zeppelin, got on the ship, pulled the lever and. and... nothing happens I think i did everything there was to do - an I wrong? bah i even tried tinkering that ship using branches wood shafts ect and why is Karkaddan saying i've beaten him if i didnt even touch him (i tried trough but villagers were untoruchable) was i suposed to bat ther crap out of him?
I loved the LoH.

You need Mantri (the white pawn) to navigate the airships for you. Did he join you? If not, you should talk to him. If you did talk to him but he didn't join, you unfortunately will have to start over. He only joins if you make the correct choices in the conversation, so save the game before you talk.
In case you did have Mantri join, make sure he is aboard when you handle the lever. If he stands on the edge of the entrance of the ship, the ship will still not move, so make sure he is really inside the boat.
I have no idea what happened with Karkaddan in your game, sorry. You are supposed to talk to him and then enter a video sequence where you fight him.
I loved LoH, too. Replayed it recently.

Mantri dissapeared after our conversation and explanation about the world and is nowhere to be found so ill just start over and hope it will work this time. It is written in the journal that i am suposed to talk to "little man next to you and make him join you" - funny - maybe he is using stealth |(
XD karkaddan got his ass kicked by black pawns and dropped his metal cap thats why they say i kicked his but XD

The most likely explanation I could think of is that you said something wrong. If you choose the right things to say, music starts to play during the conversation.

I only remember the part about him telling her she is beatiful and that after 800 years you would look different on some things. Well i was a bit sleepy. but yeah i do remember hearing music. Im not sure if he apeared next to me during that conversation - i think it was just that chat window, opened when i was in the middle of the village
Btw this time villagers werent so eager to kill the pawns so i ran to the tower and there using the elevator killed them one by one. funny thing Karkaddan still droped his cap. I didnt stay to check if he had agro but it seems so
i know what trigers that conversation - buying food, but its just monologue - no choices to be made, he just says go west
still no good can you just tell me whats suposed to happen there from the very beggining? Is Mantri suposed to be somewhere on the map all the time? (he dissapears in may case)

If he tells you to go West, you didn't say the right thing. The first thing you should say is: "the long explanation will be fine." The second thing you should say is: "Who are you?" Those are the two choices. If you start by saying those two things, he will join you at the end of the conversation, instead of just telling you to go west. You will need to restart the game and start the conversation like that. By the way, I did laugh at the villagers thinking you'd beat up Karkaddan when the black pawns did it.

I hope it worked out now? Did you get Mantri to join this time? Not sure who said it would be 700 hours play time. It took me about 60 hours to finish the first time, and I took it slowly because I needed to figure stuff out. I just started my second SP game, to see if I can do better now that I know how stuff works.

lost 4 hours on those 2 tries but bah - after hyperborea im too into this to give up (too bad for me) In LoH i didnt (couldnt?) craft anything usefull (dragons in the valkyrie garden droped better armor than i could craft) in the end i got pisssed and powerlveled everyone for nature/combat magic - smeared the fury over the wall

The crafting system in Hyperborea doesn't compare to what Xaa built in Mageworld. I love Hyperborea, but Mageworld has vastly superior crafting.

It looks so but lol i just figured how to make paterns, so tools r not enough to make something - i had full set in LoH jet could only make some armors hehehe finally know why XD
goood ideasare not enough to make progres - sometimes you have to make a mistake to make progress
