I just found a piano for Liz!!!! worlds smallest grand piano (4mm keys)There is a vid of the piano playing (it is apparently a player piano), but the url if funky and I can't put a link to it here that works. To see it just go to the pic page linked above, then click on the " Feature: World's Smallest Grand Piano Boasts 88 Functional Keys, is 4mm Wide (Video) > Pics > Photo" title. Vid would be a BIG download over dialup though. When I saw the peddles and realized that this piano was perfect in every detail, the next image that went through my mind was Liz sitting on the bench and playing.

I just found a piano for Liz!!!! Believe it or not, it's too large. ;-) See? That piano is about nine inches tall (not counting the open lid). Liz is about six inches tall. Incidentally, I chose her size for physics reasons. At that size, she will be light enough to physically fly, rather than relying on magic or some other explanation, and yet doesn't need a gigantic keel-bone to manage it. =) To scale, she's built like a woman about five-eight in height and about a hundred forty. However, at six inches in height and with hollow bones, she weighs about an ounce. =)

Wow! STILL too big! Liz is amazing!
Yes, I LOVE the way all of the science WORKS in the muse stories. With the little fairy like muse flying around, it gives a bit of a fantasy feel, but every detail is worked out with meticulous care. The science all makes sense and is quite plausible.

Wow! STILL too big! Liz is amazing! Thanks. =) She's based on what's been discovered with gray parrots - particularly a gray parrot named "Alex" - by a scientist in Arizona, Dr. Irene Pepper. Alex's intelligence level is on a par with a four-year-old child. Absolutely astonishing, when you consider his brain is about the size of a pea. Then it dawned on me that once you crack how DNA works and can design organisms, you could design a brain that would be the same size and would be a helluvalot more efficient - equal to our own, easily. Enter Liz, the Muse.
