...a game where you had fencing. Like Mageworld, but more realistic. Your character actually learns maneuvers. They learn from you actually DOING them. Pressing the buttons in a fight. And after awhile, they know what blocks and attacks they're supposed to use. At first, you over-ride them, your decisions take precedence. But eventually, they get better at it than you are. Ummm... Like when an opponent attacks, you have a tenth of a second delay (for thinking), then the character gets to recognize what's happening and start to respond anywhere from a tenth to two tenths of a second later. Depending on their speed. And depending if they know what to do. If they don't know what to do, your button presses take precedence. If they do know what to do, they start to ignore your button presses and do what they're supposed to do. The character actually learns. Well, okay, maybe longer than three tenths of a second, but you get the idea. And a variety of weapons that have different advantages and disadvantages. Like this: So each weapon would have certain built-in advantages and limitations. You'd fight with the number-pad, like in "Pirates". High, medium and low attacks/Defenses pushbuttons on the keyboard. Oh, and 'trick' maneuvers you can learn. Like disarming your opponent. Etcetera.

Xaa: That sound incredibly cool! Although you would have to be VERY careful to keep it from becoming a "twitchy" game.
Xaa: Am not as certain about this. I really LIKE the idea that the character learns how to fight, but I'm not certain at all that I like the character overriding my choices at any point. I would think that if I press a button, the character should respond and LEARN. If I start pressing a DIFFERENT button in the same situation, the neural net should obey my press, and begin overriding the old habit with the new one, so that eventually the default behavior would change to the new button. Whenever I'm NOT pressing a button, the AI chooses its response from what I've trained it to do.
The above is more of a question than a criticism. No way to properly judge a new gaming system until you've seen more of it. I'll be very interested in further revelations of your vision on this!
Speaking of visions, I thought there was a point we should clear up early on. Are you interested in this forum in having people post what THEY would like to see in a new game? I mean, obviously you want people to comment on and respond to the ideas you are posting, but do you want any "Oh, would you consider adding X" type posts?

I like fencing and I never disliked the training idea... Xaa, I wish you the best of luck to achieve this. Will you be using the DS engine, or another ? If it is another, will we need to install that too, or will it be with the game ? (I know I'm asking this too early, but hey ? )

Xaa: That sound incredibly cool! Although you would have to be VERY careful to keep it from becoming a "twitchy" game. Well, real fencing is a 'twitchy' sport. Yeah, I'm still working on this part. Not sure how it would work, yet, but I want the player to teach the character, then the character takes over from there. Like when you're fighting a truly dangerous opponent who's making two or three attacks a second, the player just can't respond that fast. But, they don't have to if they've taught the character well. Or something. Not sure, yet. Well, I have learned through hard experience that it's impossible to please everyone - literally impossible. One person, for example, says they want their character to do all the fighting for themselves and they just point them at the enemy. Another person says they want to have to click for every swing. Etcetera. And, I've learned that things that people scream the loudest for are often the things everyone else hates the most. It's not so much a matter of "squeaky wheel getst the grease" so much as it is "loudest screamer is never anywhere near the majority opinion." Certainly, someone could start an "Idea" thread, if they want. However, please don't be suprised if I completely and utterly ignore it and just do whatever the hell I want, instead.

Will you be using the DS engine, or another ? The question of "which engine" is still being decided, however, I can guarantee it will not be the DS engine, or any other engine where I do not own all rights. I am, of course, open to suggestions in this regard, but am leaning towards the Torque engine at this point.

Do you have any experience with Linux Xaa? There are a number of freesource engines that you can use out there. And you would even be able to publish games using those engines in some cases, and charge money!!!

Thanks to the NWN people who stole my art and music, put it on NWN "hack packs" and called it "Open Sourcing", I have learned to despise the entire open-source movement as being nothing more than an excuse for IP-thieves to work their will. It was difficult enough for me to even try FireFox. I am afraid that the likelyhood I will install Linux just to build a game is very low, sorry.

Getting reputation with the Frenzyheart Tribe wow power leveling is fun and rewarding. It doesn¡¯t necessarily have to take you a lot of time if you make sure you complete the wow gold chain quest and then do those dailies. Once you are Exalted with these guys you could choose to become Exalted with The Oracles. wow power leveling There is an achievement that requires you to become exalted with both the Frenzyheart wow gold Tribe and The Oracles. I would advise that, if you plan to raise your reputation to Exalted with both factions, you end with the one that is most dearest to you, SRO Gold and probably, which trinket you would really like to be able to use since you can¡¯t equip them if you don¡¯t EVE ISK have the Exalted status with This strategy has been tested by many people and myself SRO gold so it absolutely works great! On the down side this strategy only works with mages and priests. SNW vis A group of a mage and a priest is the ideal way for this strategy to work.
