Is there a mailing list somewhere that will notify me when v2 is released? No, but I can use the e-mail function of this board to send notices to everyone.

///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// // 2.0 Patch Info
Installation notes:
1) I do not know if this patch will work with the MAc version of DS. If you are playing DS on a Mac and it does not work, e-mail me. xaa@3lefties.com 2) MAGEWORLD 2.0 REQUIRES YOU TO HAVE INSTALLED MAGEWORLD 1.0 AND MAGEWORLD 1.1! IT WILL NOT WORK IF YOU DO NOT ALREADY HAVE THE TWO PREVIOUS UPDATES INSTALLED!
The patch consists of a simple .DSRES you drop into your /mageworld folder (or wherever you put the mageworld dsres). It will override the files in the original DSRES to apply the changes. The patch will include the following:
1) Final Update, all known bugs fixed. Anything you discover after this isn't a bug, it's a feature. =P 2) "Action Variation" buttons implemented. By holding the "Shift", "Ctrl" or "Alt" buttons, your character will expend mana to move faster, more accurately, or more defensively. It works as follows: "SHIFT" = Faster! Run Faster, Attack Faster,Learn Faster. Run Faster: If you are holding the shift button when you click to move or when the character selects a new opponent and runs towards them, the character will run faster. Attack Faster: If you are holding the shift button when the character BEGINS an attack, they will attack faster. NOTE: This has NO EFFECT ON RIPOSTES OR THE ARMA IGNEUS! Learn Faster: If you are holding the shift button at the right time, the character will recieve double the normal credit for each learning attempt, and there is a greater chance they will learn the spell/skill outright on each attempt. "CTRL" = Accuracy! Hit more accurately with spells or weapons. If you are holding the ctrl button when a ranged attack or spell is launched, the dispersion angle for the attack will be smaller (I.E. the shot spread will be smaller). This does NOT increase the chance you will hit in melee, but can greatly increase the damage. "ALT" = Blocking! Dodge better, parry better, shield block better. Dodge Better: If you are holding the alt button at the right moment during a fight, the chance that your character will be able to dodge arrows is greatly increased. Parry/Block Better: if you are holding the alt button when you are hit with ranged or melee attacks, you will greatly increase the character's ability to block or parry that attack (though for ranged attacks, this applies mainly to shields). NOTE: If you do not have mana to spend, then holding the button does nothing! These buttons use up 10% of your mana each second! 3) Superior Bishop armor added to the game. 4) Other armor added to the game. 5) New Spell: Truesight (negates stealth/invisibility). Note that major NPC's have this spell in Mageworld 2.0, and are assumed to be using it all the time. 6) Aside from their own unique "feline" armor, Demons now can also wear any armor that is magic/enchanted/conjured EXCEPT helmets. 7) Demons, robots and the Old Lady can wear the Lanista Garb to train others in Unarmed combat. HOWEVER: The robot and the old lady will not be able to move while wearing it, they are only allowed to wear it for the purposes of P2P training. 8) Robots have been completely re-worked in Mageworld 2.0. If you have a previously existing MULTIPLAYER robot character who has 10 skills, you will need to start him again from scratch, the revised robot starts with 2 beginning skills, not one. The additional new skill you get is "Self Repair", which is the robot's version of meditation, and works identically to the other meditation skills. Also new to robots is a new sound scheme (they're even noisier than before) and a "Casting Lockdown" - when the robot begins casting, they do not animate parrying or blocking. They still get their full defensive bonuses, but they cannot be interrupted in casting unless they are actually damaged. Robots who get the "Summon Staff" spell also have new, unique "robot-only" staves that they get as the level 2 and level 3 staff (Talent 22 and 34).
Please note that if you have not completed the SP game, you will have to either restart after you apply the patch and map update, or you will have to wait until you finish the SP game before you apply it. The combined update will bring Mageworld up to version 2.0.

so I take it that you can't use MP characters from 1.1 in 2.0?

so I take it that you can't use MP characters from 1.1 in 2.0? This is incorrect. Please note that nowhere in the readme does it say that, or anything like it. Instead, it says that if you have an MP robot character and he already has 10 skills, you will have to start him again. That is all. The reason for this is because the robot has been completely rebuilt. Again, notice that no other character is mentioned as having a problem. This is because no other character has a problem. MP characters from 1.1 are fine in 2.0.

so I take it that you can't use MP characters from 1.1 in 2.0? Why would you think that? However, due to all the changes with the robot, if you already have a robot who has nine skills, he won't be compatible with 2.0, you'll have to start a new robot that has an open slot in his skill list. This seems to be the only incompatability issue, so all your training will not be wasted! Oops...beaten to the punch...
