I have only played this game for 5 days, and do not have a lot of experienced with Mageworld yet. My questions is: What are the 10 best non-combat skills to learn, that will be most best in the game in the long run??
Since I have not played the entire game, I do not know what all the skills are, and do not have a basis for chosing them based on unlimited information. At this point, I have already used up 7 of the 10 skills slots, and realised that the learning process is irreversible. Hopefully, I have not messed up...
My 7 skills are : Tinkering, Tailoring, Foraging, Rune Foraging, Rune Research, Blacksmith and Bowyering.
I did not learn Meditation, Lockpicking , Stealth and Alchemy and do not know if they are worthwhile ...
What other new skills are there in the future, and how useful are they?
Please enlighten me... Thanks.

I notice all the skills you've chosen are crafting-related. Along this line, you will also want Alchemy. That makes 8. I would recommend you take lockpicking as well. I find meditation and stealth unnecessary, but that's a function of my playing style. Take whatever you like for the last skill. With all the crafting-relateds skills and lockpicking you should be able to go anywhere you can/do anything that's doable and/make anything from scratch (without buying anything from a merchant) provided you have the requisitte skill levels. However, all of that is merely my preference. Discovering which skills are most beneificial to you is part of the game, but I understand not wanting to restart after 100 hours because you missed something/made a deciision you regret. You may fiind my setup doesn't work for you, but I find it both sensible and efficient.. I usually leave the 10th slot open, as I've no need for any of the skills. If you're interested in making food you could take that as your 10th slot just to be able to truly say you can make ANYTHING.

It depends on the player's choice and style of play. Also it depends what you are playing SP or MP.
In SP you should learn : 1.Tinkering. 2.Tailoring. 3.Foraging. 4.Lockpicking. 5.Stealth. 6.Rune foraging. 7.Rune research. 8.Alchemy. 9.Blacksmith. 10.Archery.
But this is not the best for MP.In MP Meditation, healing are good.In MP you need to craft few things only and crafting will end.

Thanks to both of you for your reply. BTW, up to KR3 in the SP game, I have only come across mainly crafting skills, and I do not have any other choices. What other skills are there in future (beside mediation) that can be used for fighting?? Can anyone provide a list of all skills in the SP game.
Thanks a lot. BTW, I love this game.... and have already spend more time on it than Guild Wars, which I bought from the store. Xaa, I salute you for creating such a fun and immersive game environment!!!

You'll have to learn that one for yourself, it's part of the fun of the game. I can tell you that almost all of them are mentioned in this thread at one point or another.

I very strongly recommend Meditation; it's absolutely worth it.

I am glad you are enjoying it. Oh - and I also reccommend Meditation, particularly if you intend to get into spellcasting.
