Something I've been worndering for a while: Does your relevant skill rating affect at all your chance of foraging something successfully? Nope. Regardless of your stats, you always have the same chance to get a rune - about a three percent chance. This is simply a part of the game design. Runes are supposed to be rare. With ordinary Foraging, your chances of getting the basic objects are always the same - about equal for rock, stick, red berry, blue berry, and green berry. Certain characters get runes more often - the Demon has a chance of getting a stack of three (one of each type), which increases their overall chance of getting a rune to about five percent. The Robot has a one-in-three chance of getting a Creation rune, because he eats runes as food (and thus needs to gather a LOT of them). Both these advantages are balanced with roughly equivalent limitations, though (as I have mentioned before) they are not perfectly balanced. The game itself is not perfectly balanced, for that matter - some things are intentionally more valuable and/or more powerful than others. This is a part of the game design. Life itself isn't perfectly balanced, some things are just better than others. You spend twenty years learning to be a master of martial arts, only to get blown away by some young punk with a pistol. You spend your entire life trying to set up a decent retirement, meanwhile your neighbor wins the lottery and his life is set. Life isn't fair, nor is it balanced. We play the game with the limitations we have. Still, in the end, for those who want higher percentages of getting runes, play a demon or a robot. Otherwise, the best way to succeed with foraging or rune foraging is simply to forage while you are walking from place to place. Eventually, you will get what you need.
