One way you can help to spread the "Xaa Word" is to buy one of his books for someone else this Christmas!
Xaa's E-Books are only 5 bucks. Buy one, put it on a floppy or burn it onto a mini CD, and use it for a stocking stuffer. Or, buy a dead trees version for a little bit more and wrap it and put it under the tree.
Think of it as a triple gift. It's a gift for the person you give it to, and a gift for Xaa, AND it's a gift for yourself because now you will have someone else to talk to about a good story!

Good idea, but if you do that, remember to delete it off your hard drive. The only thing I really dont like about the whole electronic versions, at least the formats I have all of Xaa's books in, are that I can conceivably copy them infinitly, and hand them out for free to anyone. In fact, anyone could do that. And that defeats the whole purpose of trying to get someone interested in the book.
I think the smarter thing for people, would be to suck it up, kill a tree, and give that as a gift. At least then you know the book wont be copied.

I agree 100%. I'm always scrupulously careful about copyrights and licensing. I believe that if I use a product, I should pay for it.
That's not only out of a sense of simple justice, but because I WANT to support the artist. Now I understand people copying music because they want to hear if they like something. (not necessarily approve, but I do understand). But it does seem to me that once you have decided you DO like something, be it music or book or software, you should support that artist so that they will be more likely to produce MORE of what you like.
Think of it as an evolutionary system. If people pay for GOOD art, then natural selection will breed MORE good art. At least, that is the theory.

I've given my mother a Xaa-book a few months ago, but because she isn't quite fluent in English, she was very reluctant to start reading it. Took me two months of whining before she actually start reading, and now she's begging me to lend her my other Xaa-books. Luckily for me I'm studying in another country now, far from home... ( Obviously, I took my Xaa-books with me. ) Soon the strain will surely crack her, and she'll become a mindless zombie with only one goal on her mind : to get the next Xaa-book. ( I'm not overreacting, anyone who read a Xaa-book will know it is the truth. Sometimes we can't sleep at night because the next Xaa-book is availiable and we don't have the spare money to spent it on... ) The fun thing is, she still doesn't know how to obtain a Xaa-book. So she will be looking in all bookstores asking about to the whereabouts of a place that sells Xaa-books. She'll become as desperate as we all have been. And now, I only made it worse by telling her the only thing I want for Christmas are Xaa-books... Soon enough she'll start begging me to tell me the secret location of a Xaa-book store, and then, when I tell her, the last bit of natural resistance against online buying will be crushed, and she will - for certain - be doomed to buy me the books I lunge for. And most likely she will buy some for herself in the process. My mother also knows several people that are quite addicted to written art, and she is bound to tell those people about the marvels of a Xaa-book. And thus, the little, rolling pebble will turn into an avalanche... Or at least that's the goal which I'm working towards. ;D

As an update to one of my previous posts... I have succeeded !!! 5 more Xaa-books will be shipped to me soon. Yes. Five. ;D I know, I know... I'm not really supporting my local starving artist, but I think supporting my favourite starving artist is just as good, if not better. Thus I get the thought wrapped up into a nice set of Xaa-books, and Xaa gets the food. So this is food for thought, right ? Enjoy the food, Xaa

I purchased both of the "Muse" series for my sister-in-law this Christmas. Spread the virus.

*rolls newspaper* *softly taps Kilarin on his nose with the newspaper* No, Kilarin, no. You only give them the first book of a series, but never the full series. If they know the book they love to read is part of a series, they will want the full series. And thus they will buy the other parts. If they already have the full series, they might not dare to try another series in fear of eather a letdown (which is quite impossible with Xaa, but hey, what do they know) or a even greater addiction (this is the real danger, indeed). But I guess you know your family better than I do yours. So I'm hoping with you all this too will spread the virus, for it is a good virus. ;D Someday I will get all the other Xaa-books as well. Hopefully I will be able to keep on buying a small batch every half year (christmas and birthday) at least. So, Xaa, please make sure I don't have to think of a different wishlist because there are no fresh Xaa-books left.

Ha! True, but you see, Xaa has already announced that there is a 3rd Muse book planned, so she will still end needing the next book.
