Your behind one Xaa, You may have put up one at the end of the day but you'll fumble tomorrow!!!1 I intend to try to get ahead again, as soon as I can make some time in my schedule to do so. Hmmm... Well, I could give you one of my usual "Yoda/Sage" responses: If you expect to win all your battles on the strength of your fists alone, you should expect to lose to people who know better. Or, I could give you a terse explanation: That scene wasn't a fight scene in the sense of getting beaten on, but it's part of a fight nonetheless. Or, I could put on my "Author" hat: See, this work is kind of like a detective novel, with Satin as the detective. Her job is to figure out the mystery of how everything works, and then figure out how to survive. She thinks she knows how. I've laid out the ground rules for the universe, the trick is for you, the reader, to see if you can figure out what she's figured out, and try to guess how the mystery ends up. Or, I could just say something utterly goofy: Tune in tomorrow to see Azrael get sliced to ribbons by the razor-sharp tongue of our heroine! Tomorrow, she tells Azrael that her hips are too fat, and makes her cry! Entirely up to you as to which answer you think is best.

Diablo: They haven't FOUGHT yet! And I note, Satin thinks the same as I do about Azrael's lack of hesitation. STILL not certain how Azr is going to resolve that one. I'm still expecting an unexpected twist before the end.

Xaa: Dang somehow I replied to Diablo without having read Xaa's response yet. I probably didn't realize we had wrapped to the next page. Xaa: We are getting a story, for FREE! While we WANT it every day, we can hardly complain. Story. Free. Cool! Go at your own pace. We'll just keep HOPING your pace remains fast fast fast... Diablo: That was a very cheesy response. ;D

Really, folks, if you're all expecting Azrael to get hammered into paste or expecting her to slice Satin and/or Baal to ribbons, you really haven't been paying attention.

Xaa: Nope. Still expecting the unexpected twist. I seriously doubted it was going to end with a WWF smackdown. ;D

U m3an teh stuf from Baal about who is mor powerful than who wasnt just filling spcae?!!!11? </stupid hat> Seriously. Baal said way back when that the only person that could smack down Satin once she grew into her powers would be her opponent: god. You think she's grown into her powers a bit since then? Thas' what I thought.

I think that the more important thing to remember, is that Satin ahs been preparing herself, and Az for this confrontation already. Satin may appear to be doing it out of friendship, and overall it may be that. But overall, Satin wants to win, to allow free will and all that jazz. She has manipulated Az, almost from the beginning, whether it was subconsciously, or on purpose, the end result is the same.
Satin has either set it up herself, or just simply taken advantage of the situation. But she knows which buttons of Az's to push, and this last page has shown that.

Satin wants to win, to allow free will and all that jazz. While I'm sure you are right, that is probably part of her motivation, there is also that whole avoiding being dissolved into the guff along with Baal, Abel, and anything/one else in hell thing. That would be a strong motivator for me.
