Hi All I've browsed through various forum posts for advice. As stated here one should always choose the Arma Igneus but I'm not sure at all. Arma Igneus: My long composite bow has the same damage rating but a farther range (25m rather than 15m). Also the Igneus seems to ''eat'' arrows; at least that's what the old lady told me. Lorica Sommanta: No hot/cold weather protection, no adaptation and although a slight better defense atm (currently str 23) it will be soon redundant if I hit str 25 and are able to wear the tailored Knight's armor. Arma Adamantus: Yes, it's like the Knight's Sword but the enchanted bladed mace I've crafted for Mantri has better stats (or did I miss something?). Also I'm not using swords; hand-to-hand rocks Arma Volantus: With 3-21 damage and range 25m it seems to be a good deal although you get only 49 (if my counting is correct) and you will probably running out of them before reaching row 8. So, I really don't know which to pick here. Please advise. Jackson

The Arma Igneus makes noise and has high intimidation value. And now serious... The Arma Igneus can't be blocked ( I think ), cannot be dodged ( fact ), and pierces armour ( except Lorica Squamata ). It shoots very fast, and about always hits ( if you have a decent Precision ). Usually it also kills with one shot, or if you've had poor luck, two shots. If you have the arrows to spare, this noisemaker will blast your way through pretty much everything without anything coming even near you. It's a nice life-saver in case you think the last few rows may be too hard otherwise. Makes you feel safe to have it, even if you don't use it. Lorica Squamata is mainly intended for MultiPlayer. It's the only armour that actually stands against the Arma Igneus ( you're immune to the arrows ), meaning you won't just drop dead whenever you hear a loud bang in what could be a fun PvP battle. Arma Adamantus is, in my opinion, what makes the Sword-and-Shield style useful for non-Knight characters in MultiPlayer. Without a Knights' Blade or this sword, your character is stuck with maces, clubs or a plain longsword. Not bad, but also not as good as it could be. Even if the damage may be the same, the blades have beter balance, providing a better block chance than the clubs and maces, I believe. Again, mustly useful in MP only. Unarmed combat is indeed very nice, but at the last rows, you may want to reconsider. Parying the weapons of those Knights is not something you want to do with your body. Flare tried. She didn't like it much. ( You can find a screenshot of Flare at the screenshots thread, if you want to know who I'm talking about. ) Arma Volatus is a thrown weapon. If you use magic to prevent losing them, they'll not be as effective. If you don't, you'll just lose them. In MP, you can craft more, if you know how, so I'd say this one is, again, mostly useful in MP. You can argue that you can use the crowbar to get your projectiles out of walls and cliffs, but truth is, most of them will go over a ledge anyway. And if you like to RP, things going over the edge of the regions just may end up killing someone in the Lands. Since Pooka's a good girl, I doubt she'd like that. It's mostly a personal choise, of course. But I just do as Xaa says, and I let Pooka listen to the Pawn near the Queen, when he gives her the advise Pooka asks for. The Arma Igneus. I didn't need it myself, but some players will. And it's nice to have as a backup, just in case things get too tough.

Thanks for the feedback, Liantedan You are so right. I've tested the Igneus and, boy, that's neither a bow nor a crossbow, it's a rapid semi-automatic shotgun Thanks again. Jackson

I won't use the Arma, or any of the ancient weapons actually. I take one, just to satisfy the quest point, then drop it back at the queens feet. That way I can go forward with the plot, but do not feel obligated to come back and help the red queen re-instate the red king.
The fancy schmancy ancient weapons are really nice, but you CAN get by without them.
