Just wondering if the calendar feature of this board can be used to plan and post mp games? It's only accessible to the admins, AFAIK

It's only accessible to the admins, AFAIK Yes, but that really didn't answer my question... I've been to #siegetheday a few times and have yet to see a game being planned. I was hoping for a better way to find and join games so I can show off my lack of skill to everyone!

Yes, but that really didn't answer my question... Actually, yes, it does. You asked (paraphrasing) "Can players use the calendar to set up games?" The answer was (paraphrasing) "No, it's only an admin function, and I'm the only admin." The obvious question becomes "Will you use the calendar function to schedule games?" The answer to that question is "No, because not everyone who visits here plays Mageworld. Incredibly enough, some people who come here do so because they're actually reading my books." If I used the calendar function to set up games, people would expect me to show up to those games - and unfortunately, I simply don't have the time to do so. I would rather reserve the calendar function for more pertinent things, like book signings, release dates of novels, and so on. The solution to the problem of multiplayer mageworld games is to join #sigetheday and make friends with the players there, so they will want to play with you.

Xaa, you have book signings? This is something that we've been looking into for the future, yes.

Can you mail me a reminder when you come to sign books in Belgium ? I'd hate to miss that event.

Showing up to #Siegetheday on irc, was a huge mistake on my part. All I found were a bunch of kids running code against my IP. It ended up costing me a new monitor. The few coders and artists who were there I appreciate the time they gave me and the tips on moding. But the price was a bit steep, and after a week or so on the channel, I realized that playing Mageworld is the last thing on most peoples minds there. That being said, I really enjoyed Mageworld, and followed certain links to the irc channel. Im not going to mention names, but I think the fact that I bowed out of the channel to avoid conflict, and have recieved nothing but grief has left me with more than just an empty feeling. What I would like to know, is what I did to desirve such ridicule? I doubt anyone there will claim responsibility for the scripts being thrown at my ISP, or the $800 dollar monitor I had to replace. You may want to think twice about directing players to that channel to look for "games" to play. Just a thought, I hope I dont have more grief from posting here Jim, Im just looking for news on Mageworld 2.0, and whats happening with the mod.

Arch, I frankly have no idea what you are talking about. I am a frequent visitor to #siegetheday, and I have had this monitor since I got the computer about five/six years ago. I have never had anybody use code against my IP, and I really have no idea how somebody finding out your IP can break a monitor. #siegetheday is possibly the best place to find MW games on the net, and even though not many people on the channel play it, there are some, like me, who do.

Showing up to #Siegetheday on irc, was a huge mistake on my part. Well, I don't really understand how that could happen at all. Have you tried contacting Aaron Anderson about it? He's the one in charge of the IRC channel.

How does an IRC channel break a monitor? How can anything sent by the PC damage a monitor? Supposedly, a monitor only displays the graphics, so it would only get the information required to do so, meaning the PC can't do anything to the monitor except make it display stuff, unless there's a power surge or something, but that's different. Heh, long sentence.
