So I guess it is 500k then, how come my Elan bubble is almost full at only 125k XP? Is it to do with my gear? Does it's progress slow down?
Also I just got unto the first 7th row zone and I can already see what you where saying about the Bishops, magic dart thing and clearing the zones out solo. None of my croni- I mean, companions are viable at this point.
All I can really do is make sure I'll be viable enough to survive the 8th row, we'll see. By the way, I resummoned my staff and it looks diffrent! It's got like this horned bird head on it now....
In any case I'm lovin' this game more and more every time I play it, there's just something about it I can't really describe, it's like an aura of awesomeness or something alot like the old games I used to play, can't believe I didn't try it out sooner.

When the Elan isn't purple, it quantifies how tough your character is, roughly compared to your own level, and how tough you could have possibly been. This is based on training, stats and equipment. If you equip a level 1 char the Lorica Squamata, you will see their Elan meter climb very high. This is because at that level, that amount of armour, is absurdly high. So yes, your elan has pretty much nothing to do with your level. It is based on your training and equipment. Ah yes, you got the "Dragon Staff", as it has been dubbed. It's the second of the three levels the Magic Staff can be. This is based on your Talent. Yep, Mageworld is nothing short of awesome. ;D

Well I made it somehow all the way to the end. All I can say is what in the world is up with those boots? I never saw a Knight (Even Ancient ones) with boots like that, is that what the superior Knight armor looks like with boots on? In any case this was definately one of the best games I played in ages, kept me busy for a couple months on and off, I will probably end up making a MP character so I can max them out, but this time pick up lockpicking and equip them with the best gear in the game... Thank you Xaa for making this awesome game, it's actually quite unique and refreshing, I would love to see this in MMO form, kind of like Warhammer Online except with many zones to capture (Not just keeps! Entire zones!) and with chess pieces like Knights, Bishops and probably some of the others like Gazelles (Simply so people have more to chose from) as playable classes. Where the vast majority of your gear comes from player crafting instead of grinding boss fights all the time. I think that would be AWESOME. While I was messing around I made this map of the entire gameworld, I tried to keep everything as acurrate as possible but I started making it way after around QR4 so most of the areas in 4th to 1st rows may be inaccurate. P.S. I have no idea if the airships positions are the same in the MP version of the map.

Well I made it somehow all the way to the end. Congratulations ! ;D Yep. Knowing Xaa, there MAY be an alternate appearance, but this is how the boots on Flare ( my Superior Knight Armour wearing Knight ) look, too. Though, logically, it's likely this is the only appearance. ( Except when you're maxed out the armour itself will be again slightly different. ) Well, in SP your only option is a Knight. And not just any Knight, no, you are Pooka. One person. And you play her story. In MP, however, you can be any Knight or Bishop. Be it White, be it Black, or even Red ( neutral, chooses sides each time they enter the world ). But, it's not even limited to this ! If you figure out how to unlock them, you could play as Robbie, Delilah ( aka Kung-Fu Granny ), a Male or Female Demon, a Valkyrie, an Amazon, a Light or Dark Elf, and -By Golly- Bessie the Mad Cow ! That makes 11 different characters; Plenty to choose from, won't you say ? ;D Oh, and they all have their quirks. Extra fun to discover those ! Impressive ! That's a very nice map... I think I'll make a copy of it for my Mageworld reference folder. Though, makes me wonder... You ARE aware of Kilarin's wonderful Mageworld Journal, yes ? I think they're more or less the same, yes. Black still has the upper hand in MP. The MP map actually fits in the whole story too. But I'll let you figure that out on your own. PS: Should I count the Cat as a 12th character, actually ?

That made me think, would be really interesting to add the "easter egg" playable characters as classes to said MMO, and maybe include the red side as a third faction of sorts, I wonder if Xaa might be interested in such a project someday? I was able to unlock both of the demons though, the male's legs look kind of funny. No idea about the others. Impressive ! That's a very nice map... I think I'll make a copy of it for my Mageworld reference folder. Though, makes me wonder... You ARE aware of Kilarin's wonderful Mageworld Journal, yes ? Yes, I have used it quite a bit especially for setting notes and recipes (I didn't want them getting lost in paper piles or document clutter), I'd love to see a version that has it + the map I made as a background, maybe make it apply the background color (You can see it behind the letters and numbers) over squares you haven't marked as explored, and make the little airship reprentation bubbles move when you set their positions on the journal. I think they're more or less the same, yes. Black still has the upper hand in MP. The MP map actually fits in the whole story too. But I'll let you figure that out on your own. I just rolled up a Black character on MP to check out the keeps I wasen't able to get into in SP, I noticed, time-wise, it is Shatranj before Pooka shows up, I think. Because the Black King and his best warriors (Queen's Knight and so on) are still alive? However, recalling all of the zones after KR1 being full to the brim with Black forces, I wonder how Black characters are supposed to level? Is there White forces wandering around the zones closer to the White homerows now? PS: Should I count the Cat as a 12th character, actually ? ' I guess, but don't you actually have to equip something on the demon (Can you do both of them? Or is it only one, the female I think?) to change it into a cat? Woulden't that make it about half a character?

I wonder if Xaa might be interested in such a project someday? I don't think Xaa would make an MMO, though I may be mistaken. He's a writer, a storyteller, and MMO's rarely tell much of a story. It's just not practical for something with the mechanics of an MMO to really tell a story... They look fine to me. It's just that digitigrade legs aren't quite what we're used to looking at, I guess. They look a bit out of proportion. And, of course, they're longer too. We've gotten used to the idea of women with long legs, so the female demon's legs look fine. We're not quite used to men with long legs, so the male demon's legs look different, despite being the same. Hmm, let's wait and see if you can tempt our Resident Java God. I'm not telling. The airships are favouring Black. Black chars can go pretty much anywhere on the map, starting at the Black homerow, in short order. A White character starting at the White homerow, however, has to travel quite a ways to get anywhere at all. Yes, in MP, with the exception of the homerows, most zones alternate between White and Black possession. Which is why I didn't count it at first, yes. ( Some people may consider your question a spoiler, though. )

Zesvotzashni Sinkunndai'Jari: Congratulations! it is quite an accomplishment! Zesvotzashni Sinkunndai'Jari: That is an INCREDIBLY cool map. Unfortunately, I don't think it could be implemented into Mageworld Journal in a manner that was fair to Mageworld. The problem, as I see it, is that there is NOTHING to keep lazy users from simply pulling up Mageworld Journal and flipping all this ships so that they can see the mini-maps ahead of time. thereby taking away some of the fun of exploration. It's really too bad, because if it could be fully integrated with Mageworld, so that the mini maps could only appear after you had ACTUALLY explored a region, well, your mini maps ROCK! Liantedan: Actually, I do remember him discussing this back in the heyday of SiegeNetwork. He was wishing some bright (and well funded) entrepreneur should offer a MMO platform to developers for free, and then split the monthly usage fees with the developer. Everyone wins. I THINK www.syntensity.com/ is working on something fairly similar to this, but they have an added rule that anything you put up through syntensity must be modable by other useres WITHIN syntensity (not outside of it). I think this provision would probably be unacceptable to Xaa.
