So, you said previously that a third Muse book was in the works. I'm not rushing you, you can't rush art, just wondering how it goes?

So, you said previously that a third Muse book was in the works. I'm not rushing you, you can't rush art, just wondering how it goes? Detective mysteries are the hardest to write, because you have to provide all the clues without providing the answer until the denouement. Also, it can't rely on stuff that people aren't going to know - for example, a detective mystery that hinged on a degree of familiarity with sub-atomic physics wouldn't fly, because nobody would understand it except a physicist. This was one of the problems with Asimov's one and only detective mystery, it hinged on chemistry, a field Asimov knew very well. Most ordinary people don't know chemistry well (if at all), however, so the story bombed. Of course, now that he's dead, it sells very well - but waiting until after you're dead for a book's sales to take off is kind of poor strategy, in my opinion. Well, I got about halfway done and realized the mystery was too simplistic, the readers would figure it out long before they were supposed to, so I'm having to re-write it.

Well, getting the book right is worth the wait! This is still my favorite series of your books. I'll just reread the first two to build up my anticipation...
